Sven Harding

Sven loves Africa. So much so that a couple of years back he loaded his wife, dog and cat onto a 747 at Heathrow Airport, stuffed all their worldly possessions onto a container ship, and moved the lot into a little old house on the slopes of Table Mountain.

From where Sven has continued to draw upon his wealth of experience as an established and versatile British commercial and music video director, to create a stream of award-winning African content.

Since settling in Cape Town, Sven’s gained a Cannes Lion and a couple of Clios for his ‘Saving Aslan’ Fixodent promotional wildlife short (17 million YouTube views and rising) and won a bunch of international film festival awards for his Afrocentric work with WaterAid and Red Bull. As well as utilising evocative storytelling and visual techniques – a legacy of his art school background – Sven continues to excel directing music-based and choreographed TVCs (skills he honed making more than fifty international music videos back in the UK).

Sven’s been kicked by a camel in the Atlas Mountains, clawed by lion cub in the Gauteng bush, and butted by a bull on the outskirts of Addis – all the name of ‘getting the shot’ across Africa. Despite all this, he’s still keen to explore ever more of this vast, cinematic landmass. If you want a fresh perspective, technical savvy, and to add creative value, Sven’s your guy!
